What happens when two dog lovers decide to turn their passion into a profession? In the case of Briana and Sharnil, co-owners of WT Fluff Grooming, you get something that transcends a typical grooming service.
Walking into their bright storefront on Santa Monica Boulevard between 7th and Lincoln, I’m immediately struck by the atmosphere — relaxed, welcoming, and warm. Honestly, the space feels like a day spa for people.
But of course, this spa is dog-centered.
“We want people to know that when they drop their dogs off here, the pets are in the loving care of their aunties,” Briana tells me.
This isn’t just something they say at WT Fluff -— it’s the heart of how they run things, something I can see in every interaction during my visit.

From Mobile to Mortar (and Bricks)
WT Fluff’s story began on four wheels. “We started as a dog grooming van,” Sharnil says. “Now three years later, we opened our first brick and mortar location.”
The ladies wanted to create a place that offers personalized care for each dog’s unique personality and needs.
“We are passionate about dogs. We love them,” Briana tells me. This forms the bedrock of their partnership.
Their journey from mobile service to Santa Monica storefront represents a big step, but talking to them, I sense that their greatest achievement isn’t the physical place, but the trust they’ve built with both dogs and their owners.

The Language of Dogs
As we chat in the lobby, Max, one of the technicians, emerges with a freshly groomed dog —- a small mutt with coffee-colored, curly hair. Max introduces me to Peanut. (The dog looks remarkably handsome after his grooming session, I must say.)
I reach out to pet Peanut, but Sharnil intervenes: “That dog needs to go to the bathroom right now!”
Max is on it. He leashes Peanut and they head outside. I’ll fast-forward a bit here to allow Peanut some dignity, but suffice to say, Sharnil was right on the money.
When the duo return moments later, I ask how she knew.
“You work with dogs long enough, you see things,” she says with a shrug. Ican tell she is being modest. She clearly has a real understanding of dogs.
This moment reveals something about WT Fluff’s success: Briana and Sharnil don’t just groom dogs — they speak their language.

Beyond the Cut
For the co-owners, grooming is about much more than looks.
“Dogs don’t judge people. But ironically, people do judge dogs based on the way they’re groomed!” Sharnil says.
This perspective seems to influence WT Fluff’s approach. Every cut, every bath becomes an opportunity to honor each dog’s unique character while helping them feel comfortable in their own fur.
“We love to see happy reunions between dogs and their owners,” Briana says. “We love when owners fawn over their dogs and admire their fresh look.”
A Family Affair
Both Briana and Sharnil are dog owners themselves.
Their own pets become subjects of debate during our conversation. Sharnil eagerly tells me about Briana’s dog, named Bee.
“Bee is a schnoodle!” she announces. (If you don’t know, a schnoodle is part schnauzer, part poodle.)
Briana immediately shoots back: “Bee is not a schnoodle! He is a schnauzer. A schnauzer only. Sharnil just likes saying the word ‘schnoodle.'”
Sharnil pulls out her phone. “Here’s a picture of Bee. Tell me he’s not a schnoodle.”
I’m no dog expert, but once again, I have to say that Sharnil knows what she’s talking about. (Sorry, Briana, if you are reading this!)

Home Away From Home
As I prepare to leave, Briana summarizes their mission: “At the end of the day, we want people to feel that WT Fluff is a home away from home for their dogs.”
Sharnil chimes in: “At the end of the day, we want people to say, ‘That was amazing.'”
Looking around at the comfortable space they’ve created, watching the gentle, attentive way the team interacts with each dog, it’s easy to see that they’ve accomplished both goals.
As I step back onto Santa Monica Boulevard, I think that WT Fluff stands out by focusing on compassion.
What Briana and Sharnil have built is a place where both dogs and their owners feel understood, cared for, and utterly at home. That’s not just good business — it’s a genuine connection that keeps tails wagging and canines looking their very best.
